To select a location from the sunPATH database, use the Locations menu. This hierarchical menu allows you to select a State from within the USA or a Country from within global regions. When you select a country or state from the menu, sunPath will display a list of cities and locations.
There are many ways to find your location in the list.
Scroll Bar -- use the scroll bar to scroll to the desired name.
Arrow Keys -- Up and Down arrow keys move the selection bar and scroll the list.
Keyboard -- with the list outlined, press one or two keys in quick succession. The list will scroll to the first name which begins with the letter or letters you typed. To outline the list, use the TAB key or click on the list.
Find Function -- Tab to or Click on the entry box below the list. Type in a name or partial name of the location you wish to find. Click on the FIND button. The FIND function is case insensitive. (e.g., “angeles” will find “Los Angeles.”)
Select the Location
Select the location by highlighting the name (clicking on it) and pressing the Select button or by double-clicking on the name.
Once a location is selected from the database, sunPATH will display the location’s coordinates and data on the entry screen. You will then only need to select a date range for your sunPATH calculations.
